Harlow Carr Gardens, May 2005
In May, I went to Harlow Carr gardens in Harrogate. I thought that it would be late enough in the year that all of the leaves would be out, but there were still quite a few plants stuck in winter. I'll have to try again later in the summer. There is an exhibition of sculptures in the garden until September, and they are scattered around among the plants. I thought that this would be distracting, but they actually work quite well. They seem to fit. There is an exhibit of "Gardens through Time", that has example house gardens from 1815 to the present. It was kind of interesting to see what was popular at the different times.

I guess that they had to cut down a few dead trees. Instead of just throwing them away, they made sculptures out of them, including a dragon, totem poles, and mushrooms...
